The Dean Burgon Society (DBS) has been in existence for
over 26 years. The sole focus of the society has been to defend the
Hebrew, Aramaic, and Greek words behind the KJB and to assist local
churches in the ongoing battle for the preserved words of God. Therefore,
the DBS has striven to provide appropriate written materials and books
which articulate our position. The assault by the modernists and enemy
spiritual forces has been unrelenting and accelerating. Clearly, this
is the most important issue facing the churches today. "If the foundations
be destroyed, what can the righteous do?" [Psa. 11:3] We must, as His
soldiers, rise to the occasion and meet this intensifying assault through
the plan laid out by the early founders of the DBS and by some other new
ideas recently presented at the annual DBS Executive Committee meeting.
Some of you that will receive this letter have already
indicated a willingness to assist in this matter. Many of you have been
silent for a while. We are praying this letter will "light a fire." We are
praying that more of you will become active again (or more active) by
contributing to this worthy cause in several ways outlined below.
There have been several educational efforts approved by
the DBS Executive Committee. These efforts and some of the reasons for
them are:
1. The DBS News has been increased to eight pages in order
to better serve you, local pastors, local congregations, and all believers
who are alarmed at the assault on the preserved words of God.
2. Several new books were
commissioned by the Executive Committee.
a. One work is called
The Answers To
100 Questions Concerning: "Are The Words Of God Preserved?" The
editors of this work will be Dr. D. A. Waite and Dr. Thomas Strouse.
b. Another work will be the compilation of two of
Dr. Jack Moorman’s previous books, which demonstrate the early
existence of the Traditional Text, into one work.
3. The DBS Executive Committee voted to approve
streaming video of the annual conference on the web.
4. The DBS Executive Committee requested that a home
school curriculum be developed that will assist parents in educating their children
concerning the issues of preservation of God’s Words. A committee was
appointed to pursue this worthy cause.
5. The DBS Executive Committee has established the position of
(MR)
missionary/representative to encourage and assist local churches in their educational and
defensive efforts. The MR is commissioned and sent by his local church to
assist the Dean Burgon Society. Dr. H. D.
Williams, a retired physician and author of The
Lie That Changed The Modern World, A Refutation of the Modernist
Cry: Poly-Scripturae
published by Bible For Today Press, has a strong desire to assist in
this effort. He is making arrangements to
come to your church when requested to assist local churches and
pastors by offering encouragement and by providing educational
opportunities. Only on
rare
occasions will Dr. Waite be available
for seminars and other educational efforts. Our desire is to encourage
those who have been on the front line in this battle. A form will be
included with this letter for local church leaders to fill out. Please
help us to help you by scheduling a conference/seminar or meeting with
the MR.

Biography
Dr. H. D. Williams was born in Ft. Pierce, FL where
he was "born again" at the age of 14 at a conservative Baptist church.
He was active in his youth group and was licensed to preach the gospel
at the age of 16. After graduating from Dan McCarty High School with
honors, he attended Stetson University in DeLand, FL, where he was a
member of the Ministerial Association, preached in several local
Baptist churches, and led several preaching revivals. He met his
helpmeet of 43 years at Stetson University where they were married in
1961. After they graduated from Stetson with honors, Dr. Williams
attended the University of Miami Medical School where he was inducted
into Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honorary in his Junior year. After
finishing his medical training, Dr. Williams and his wife, Patricia, settled in
New Port Richey, FL, where he practiced as a board certified family
practitioner. He and his wife were active in their community. He
served on the board of Community Hospital for 20 years as the
Vice-Chairman, and he was Chief of Staff for a few years as well as
President of his medical society. Mrs Williams’ degree in music
education enabled her to serve as chairman of the county’s Arts
Council and she was assistant director of a woman’s community chorus.
She also served as executive secretary of several medical facilities.
Becoming active in their local Baptist church, Dr. Williams served as
a teacher of middle aged men and his wife was a teacher of young
women. They attended Moody Bible Institute (MBI) evening school for
many years and were President and Secretary of the MBI Florida
Advisory Board. They have two sons and five grandchildren.
Dr. Williams began his service to the Lord using a
KJB. While in private medical practice he was told by a seemingly
well-trained Pastor and graduate of Dallas Theological Seminary that
the NASB was a better Bible. He switched to the NASB and for a few
years innocently used this Bible based on the critical text. One
evening his sister-in-law called and told Dr. Williams that a lady,
Gail Riplinger, had appeared on a local T.V. station and that she had
said the KJB was the "right" Bible. She said that the other versions
were "corrupted." That phone call turned Dr. Williams’ "world" upside
down. He began his own investigation and research over an eleven year
period, which led to the publication of The Lie That Changed The
Modern World, A Refutation Of The Modernist Cry: Poly-Scripturae
published by Bible For Today Press. Dr. Williams used many of the excellent
resources from the Dean Burgon Society and Bible For Today to research
his book.
Dr. Williams has continued to teach in local
independent Baptist churches and has held teaching sessions about the
textual issues in his home for neighbors. He has also taught seminars
on the textual issues. Dr. Williams has been active in the Dean Burgon
Society and fully supports its statement of faith, principles, and
position. He is currently the associate editor of the Dean Burgon
Society News that has an international readership and he serves as
Vice-President of the Dean Burgon Society. Dr. Williams and his wife
have had a strong desire placed in their hearts to serve the Lord
Jesus Christ by teaching others about the textual issues and the
preservation of the words of God in the KJB.
Dr. Williams and his wife are being sent as
missionaries by their local church. He freely admitted to his local
church at their commissioning service that if he did not go out and
teach that he would be standing down in the forest asking the trees
"What version do you use?" His wife is in complete agreement and the
Lord has given her a strong desire to assist him to serve the Lord in
this manner. Therefore, the Dean Burgon Society has called Dr.
Williams as their Missionary/Representative (MR) to assist local
pastors, churches, and Bible schools in this battle to preserve,
guard, and protect the words of the Living God.
Most importantly, Dr. Williams wishes anyone
reading this information to know that any accomplishments in his life
are due to the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ. He wishes everyone to
know that he is a sinner saved by grace, and invites anyone desiring
to know more about the Lord Jesus Christ to ask him.
Dr. Williams and his wife are fully committed to
this work and refuse to take any support. They request that if God has
laid it on your heart to support this effort, please contribute to the
cause by donating to the Dean Burgon Society. The funds received are
used for secretarial help, mail outs, publishing and other costs
necessary to maintain an office, but none of the support donated to
the Dean Burgon Society goes for the salaries of the
Missionary/Representative, or his travel expenses, or to any other
members of the DBS.

All of the above reminds us of the missionary effort
Paul assigned to Titus and two other unknown brothers. [2 Cor. 8:6-24] The
task was a team effort made up of members of various churches
to avert a crisis. "We plead with you like Paul did in verse 23-24: Whether any do enquire of Titus, he is my partner
and fellowhelper concerning you: or our brethren be enquired of,
they are the messengers of the churches, and
the glory of Christ. [24] Wherefore shew ye to them, and
before the churches, the proof of your love, and of our
boasting on your behalf." [2 Cor. 8:23-24]
